Interstarch Spain SL offers a wide range of native corn and wheat starches for industrial use. All our starches are made from high-quality raw materials and improve the characteristics of the finished product in a wide range of applications. We help clients in the production of paper and corrugated cardboard, textiles, various types of adhesives and we are ready to develop the product according to individual requirements to the quality characteristics of the product on the part of the client.
Native starches are widely used in various areas of industrial production. In the paper industry — for the production of coated paper, cardboard, paper containers and other products. In the textile industry — for smoothing and finishing fabrics. In chemical — for sealing, printing inks and producing glue.
Native corn starch is pure white starch, obtained during the corn wet-milling. Due to its adhesive properties, is the basis for glue in the production of corrugated cardboard and imparts the necessary strength characteristics to fabrics. It is used for printing on textile and paper products (the paint is laid flat and does not spread over the product). Native corn starch is used in dressing and sizing, in the production of building materials and a variety of means for economic use.

Native waxy starch is made from waxy corn. Unlike other native starches, its content of amylopectin is up to 99%. It is used as a universal thickener for glues, paints and various coatings. Native waxy starch is especially important in the production of label adhesives, where it shows an increased adhesive ability when working on high-speed machines.

Wheat Starch is a natural carbohydrate and a highly versatile biomaterial with numerous industrial applications. The main area of industrial application for native wheat starch is in the paper and corrugated cardboard industry and textile іndustry also wheat starch plays a significant role in pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics and personal care, like biodegradable adhesives for various applications and a source material for biodegradable bioplastics. Standard and predictable quality of wheat starch achieved by high-quality wheat and state-of-the-art technology. General benefits of native wheat starch are biodegradable – wheat starch is a natural and renewable resource, making it an environmentally friendly choice compared to some synthetic binders; cost-effective – native wheat starch is a relatively inexpensive binder compared to some synthetic alternatives; readily available – wheat is a widely cultivated crop, making wheat starch a readily available and sustainable source material; workability – native wheat starch offers good workability, allowing for efficient processing during papermaking or sizing of yarn / fabric; non-toxic – generally safe for human contact and consumption.
